Fresh from a discerning private collection, this is a truly stunning example of the limited edition Brera, developed in collaboration with Prodrive, one of the world most successful motorsport organisations.

Prodrive developed the car over a year, specifically optimising the handling for British roads.

Produced only for the UK market, production of the Brera S was limited to just 500 individually numbered models, of which it is estimated that around 175 were the 3.2 litre V6 JTS engine variant, the “V6S”, the majority being the smaller 2.2 litre JTS engine variant, referred to just as the “S”.

This makes the V6S not only rare, but the most sought after Brera of the entire model range.

With just over 18,000 miles from new and presenting in fantastic condition inside and out, this Alfa Romeo Owner’s Club 2022 winner of “Best Modern”, comes with a FSH and its all-important original numbered and signed owner’s certificate.

With only two previous owners, this is quite possibly the finest low mileage/low owner V6S available. As such, it offers a unique opportunity for any enthusiast looking for a “collector grade” example of this stunning modern classic.

EXTERIOR

Finished in Alfa Red, the paintwork is in exceptional original condition and unmarked, with only the leading edge of the bonnet showing the most minor of stone chips.

Having been used only sparingly and dry stored in a temperature controlled environment by its last owner, as expected, there is no evidence of any corrosion on the car’s exterior. In addition, all black plastics and rubber trim parts are unbleached by the sun and all light lenses are crystal clear and unblemished.

All badging and chrome work including the “Prodrive” logoed exhaust tips are in excellent unmarked condition.

INTERIOR & EQUIPMENT

The interior of V6S is a very special place to be and presents almost as new and entirely in keeping for a car with such low mileage.

Traditional Alfa Romeo design cues, such as cowled instruments and three spoke sports steering wheel, combine with unique to the Brera S, sports seats. These are beautifully finished in soft black Italian Frau® leather, with contrasting red stitching. In addition, each headrest houses a limited edition “Brera S” etched aluminium plate and features both the Italian and Union Jack flags, symbolising the collaboration. The same Italian Frau® leather is also tailored to cover the fascia, door panels, multi-function steering wheel and gear lever. Meanwhile the centre console and instruments are faced in a dark aluminium finish. Finally, drilled aluminium sports pedals provide the finishing touch.

Amongst other modern day features, the car comes equipped with dual-zone automatic climate control with split temperature and distribution function, electric windows, car radio with audio CD player (6 speakers), rear parking sensor, front fog lights, cruise control and a front armrest with temperature controlled storage compartment. All instruments and electrics function as they should.

ENGINE, TRANSMISSION & SUSPENSION

The V6S shares the same engine as the standard 3.2 V6 Q4. This is a direct injection engine with variable valve timing (cam-phasing on both inlet and exhaust cams, hence the name Twin Phaser), producing 257 bhp and 237lbs/ft.

In the V6S, Prodrive ditched the standard Brera’s heavy four-wheel drive system for a front-wheel drive setup, losing 100 kgs of weight in the process and providing the V6S with more spirited performance than the standard Q4.

Prodrive’s main goal was to seriously upgrade the Brera’s handling and to do that, the UK firm developed new springs with Eibach and dampers with Bilstein, which were tuned to achieve the desired ride/handling balance and steering response, required by driving enthusiasts in the UK.

At the same time, the suspension’s static geometry was also revised to optimize steering and handling, while the car’s height was lowered height 10mm. Prodrive also fitted the Brera V6S with new lightweight 19” alloy wheels saving 2 kgs over the standard 17” wheels, along with hollow anti-roll bars and aluminium suspension components from the Factory.

The driving experience is now up to doing justice to the jaw-dropping looks. The V6S is more dynamic and lively on the road and the steering in particular, is better weighted and far more accurate, compared with the standard car. It’s also pleasingly balanced and sharp through corners, where the body roll that blights the standard Brera, has been dialled out.

Finally, V6S also sounds different from the standard Brera. The original characteristic growl of the V6 has been enhanced by a careful redesign of the rear silencers.

WHEELS, BRAKES & TYRES

As can be seen from the photos of the underside, this is one of the cleanest cars we’ve seen. The original paint and underseal is in incredible condition, there’s no evidence of the car ever being welded and no signs of corrosion to the floor pans or sills.

As part of the pre-sales preparation, all suspension and brake componentry, sub-frames, sills, wheel arches, floor pans and footwells, were painstakingly treated by hand, to a coating of transparent DINITROL automotive rust prevention and corrosion protection treatment, to provide for additional and durable long-term corrosion protection.

In addition, “Lanoguard Motospray” treatment has been applied to the hard to access areas, such as under the bumpers, prop shaft tunnel, up behind the spare wheel well, rear body floor and behind the petrol tank. This is a long lasting rust prevention and waterproofing treatment, for the whole underbody and chassis, which is resistant to jet washing, heat, salt, acid and alkaline. As such, the car is now very well protected against all the challenges, our weather can throw at it.

The car comes with a comprehensive A4 documents binder containing the registration document, every MOT issued since 2013 (all with first time passes and no advisories), as well as numerous invoices for parts and services. In addition, there are various Alfa Romeo Brera V6S articles, the “Best Modern” award certificate from the Alfa Romeo Owners Club (“AROC”) Cotswold Section Alfa Day 2022, as well as numerous other AROC related correspondence, event brochures and magazine, as well as various dealer specification brochures.

The car also comes with 2 key fobs and its original dealer’s pack containing the owner’s manual and service and warranty booklet showing a FSH, with no less than 12 stamps in the book.


A custom fit, Alfa Romeo logoed, indoor car cover comes with the car, as does its own privately commissioned framed colour portrait, which we think is a particularly nice touch.

Finally, the car comes with the original hard backed Brera Limited S Edition booklet and slip cover, which includes the original numbered and signed owner’s certificate. This is an absolute must for the discerning collector, as the Brera S’s were never fitted with a numbered plaque inside the car.
